Long-billed Curlew

Curlews are social birds with bills almost as long as their bodies. They live in the salt marshes and mud flats. When in danger, they flee to the open spaces. Once hunted for their delectable meat, they are now fully protected. These were found at the Bear River Bird Refuge.

They must have a really strong neck to hold up that bill.
