Great Egret

This is a seldom seen Great Egret.It is a beautiful white and has black feet and is about the size of a Blue Heron.I have only seen one once before at Farmington Bay several years ago. It's cousin,the Snowy Egret, is smaller and has yellow feet. It is common in this area. I was excited to see this bird again. It is not a permanent resident and was probably just passing through.

Sometimes the bear river bird refuge is just grasses but once in a while you see a beautiful little spot.
