Robert Smithson's earthwork, the Spiral Jetty is located on the northeast shore of the Great Salt Lake. Using six thousands tons of rock he formed a coil 1,500 feet long. Many people come the its' remote site to marvel at its beauty. When the lake is high it disappears completely only to resurface as the water goes down.
